Andy Burnham is a Fool
Mainstream media won't say it but Andy Burnham and his puppetmasters from the corrupt "Labour Together"group have been utterly, utterly stupid. Almost as soon as he decided that there should be no limits on donations to political parties, two ultra-rich millionaires donated a total of £72 million to the Reform Party. That is more money than was spent by all parties on the 2024 general election and completely changes the game for the 2029 general election.
It will make a massive difference in almost every way, much more so than everyone thinks. On top of the wall-to-wall coverage by oligarch-owned mainstream media, most of which favours Reform, it will mean thousands of billboards around the country, interminable social media adverts, armies of bots on social media making Reform appear more popular than they are, and glossy propaganda going through everyone's letterboxes on a regular basis for the next 30 months. It will be a propaganda blitz the likes of which this country has never seen, and it will make a huge difference; Reform will pick up a lot of votes.
The moronic Labour Together drones telling Burnham what to do have really got it very badly wrong and made a fool out of their puppet. They have totally failed to understand fascism and how the far right functions, in particular how voters drawn to fascist propaganda are hooked and led. Actual or potential Reform voters are affected by emotions, feelings and sentiment. They are not swayed or convinced by rational argument, even more than the rest of us are, they are impervious to it.
The Labour leadership's advisory wonks demonstrated this complete failure to understand the mindset of people who are likely to swallow fascist propaganda when they proposed the "Digital ID" scheme. They decided on this because polls suggested that Reform voters were supposedly split on this issue and so Farage would alienate some of his voters if he took sides. It didn't even move the dial a millimetre. It turned out that this issue was nowhere near important enough to cut through Reform's racist propaganda noise about immigration. The red haze of emotional hatred whipped up by Reform and the Oligarch media completely obscured the whole thing, something about which Reform supporters clearly hardly cared at all about, probably because it was not something based specifically on emotional hatred.
It is Labour's failure to understand the nature of fascism that is behind its catastrophic decision not to put a cap on donations to political parties. The additional £72,000,000 Reform has received from its wealthy backers will be used for blanket emotional, hate-based campaigning of the kind most political parties, and certainly politicians like Burnham, who are controlled by Labour Together really don't know how to respond to.
From the outside it appears that, since 2024, Labour has done its utmost to pave the way for a Reform government, and that seems to be the likely result of Burnham's stupidity over political donations, more than anything else.
